Inter RAO, GE and Rostec launched the new gas turbine facility in Russia
Russian Gas Turbines LLC — a joint venture between GE (NYSE: GE), Inter RAO Group, and United Engine Corporation (UEC, a subsidiary of state corporation Rostec) — has opened a new factory in the city of Rybinsk in Russia’s Yaroslavl Region to manufacture, sell, and service GE 6F.03 (6FA) gas turbines.

A gas and steam turbine of Unit No. 2 has been tested at low barring speed on the construction site of Yuzhnouralskaya Thermal Power Plant-2 (TPP-2). This is a major milestone in the power facility construction project that means transition from mechanical completion and pre-commissioning to commissioning. The “first fire” of the turbine and run-up to idling are expected on site in the coming days.
